About The Position

Manufacturing Process Engineer II will work on projects/matters of varying complexity in a lead and support role. Facilitate planning and designing manufacturing processes for an ambulance/emergency vehicle production facility. Maximizes efficiency, safety, and quality by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines the parts, equipment, and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to process needs and product specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent education required.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience required.
  • Strong and consistent attention to detail.
  • Build relationships with people at all levels of the organizations.
  • Familiarity with 2 and 3-D CAD.
  • Experience with problem solving techniques (5 why & root cause analysis).
  • Understanding of statistical techniques and data analysis.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with ability to work directly with all levels of the organization concerning manufacturing initiatives and progress updates.
  • Hard working, highly motivated, organized, and self-disciplined.
  • Versatile, flexible, and willing to work with changing priorities.
  • Effectively prioritize and execute concurrent assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative and innovative team player.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and make timely decisions.
  • Extensive PC skills with knowledge of the entire Microsoft suite of products.
  • Proficient with cost/savings estimation.
  • Capable of effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees in the organization.
  • Robust understanding of Lean Manufacturing ideology and methods.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand manufacturing processes with emphasis on metal fabrication and assemblies.
  • Identify improvement opportunities, root causes and be able to define & execute resolutions.
  • Define test requirements and collect, analyze, and interpret data to validate process improvements.
  • Strong understanding of lean principles and apply them to various manufacturing and business processes.
  • Execute change management through established processes and documentation.
  • Develop or alter change management process and documentation to fit the need.
  • Sustain improvements by setting clear expectations and KPIs.
  • Spread a culture of change and teamwork.
  • Ensure the highest level of safety, quality, and collaboration is achieved throughout every project.
  • Make and/or assist with detailed technical, project planning, plant layouts, and standards of practice documentation.
  • Engage key stakeholders and resources to achieve project goals and timelines.
