CHS Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer Intern for our Oil Refinery facility located in McPherson, Kansas. This internship offers a unique opportunity to provide technical support to refinery Process Engineers across various units, focusing on achieving optimal performance while adhering to safety, environmental, and economic guidelines set by the company. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and report findings. As a Process Engineer Intern, you will engage in a variety of tasks that include performing routine engineering calculations, collecting and analyzing detailed unit operations data, and troubleshooting operational issues. You will be responsible for issuing recommendations aimed at improving unit yields and energy usage, as well as recognizing and reporting safety, health, and environmental issues that may impact operations and personnel. The role will also require you to interpret instructions and apply engineering principles to assignments, which may involve complex features and potential solutions. Projects you may work on include equipment design, testing of materials, preparation of specifications, process studies, research investigations, and report preparation. These activities will require a solid understanding of engineering principles and techniques relevant to your assignments, providing you with valuable hands-on experience in the refining industry.
