The Process Engineer will be a systems thinker, able to marry detailed local machine and operator efficiency with overall plant performance to direct continuous improvement efforts. The position will be the primary lead responsible for gathering and analyzing performance data and communicating findings to peers and supervisors. The Process Engineer will become intimately familiar with all Purple manufacturing processes, using analytics and systems thinking techniques to improve processes for the benefit of the company. The Process Engineer will team with other departments and disciplines to get buy-in on all improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, etc..) with 4-7 years’ experience as an Engineer in a production environment
  • Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma principles

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high volume assembly and/or distribution systems

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a system performance map that communicates efficiencies, capacity, and system bottlenecks.
  • Support the development and management of work instructions, generate FAQ’s, audit reports, etc. to support Manufacturing.
  • Learn and apply appropriate Lean, Theory of Constraints, and Six Sigma principles.
  • Promote an environment of engineering rigor, discipline, informed decision making, and enthusiastic problem solving with his/her peer group in Production.
  • Coordinate with the Quality and Maintenance teams to investigate product or equipment failures and determine a plan to prevent or mitigate future occurrences.
