Acculam, a dynamic and growing organization located in Falmouth, Massachusetts, is seeking a high-energy Process Engineer III with 5 to 10 years of experience in composite manufacturing. The company specializes in manufacturing advanced composite materials, including sheet, plate, rod, and tubes, which are utilized in a diverse range of applications such as industrial, medical, defense, recreational, electronics, and aerospace sectors. This position is critical to the development and optimization of manufacturing processes, ensuring that the products meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The Process Engineer will be responsible for conducting process development for new manufacturing processes and troubleshooting existing process issues. A significant focus will be on optimizing current processes to achieve key performance indicators, including reducing scrap, minimizing downtime, improving product quality, and increasing throughput. The engineer will document new procedures to support process development and optimization efforts, and will also be responsible for issuing Engineering Change Orders (ECO) to modify existing processes as necessary. In addition to process optimization, the role involves investigating non-conformances, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions. The Process Engineer will assist in the design and development of new products, as well as the re-design of existing products and processes. Maintaining the Quality Management System and supporting environmental data collection and reporting are also essential components of this position. Given the hands-on nature of the role, the engineer will spend approximately 70% of their time on the plant floor, collaborating closely with production teams to ensure effective implementation of processes and improvements.
