About The Position

Holcim (US) Inc. seeks a Process Engineer II at our Hagerstown, MD plant to analyze plant operations and recommend process efficiency improvements, including a Cost/Benefit analysis. Key responsibilities include developing process control automation and computer applications for process control, preparing computer reports on the process of operating efficiencies and failure investigation analysis, performing tests on operating plant systems to determine the efficiencies of the equipment, assisting management in maintaining the Plant within environmental and quality performance regulations, monitoring and developing Control Room Operators to operate the plant efficiently and safely, planning, performing, and evaluating process audits (kiln, raw mill, finish mills) and making recommendations to improve, and being responsible for the rotary kiln operation efficiency monitoring and improvements, including efficient and sustainable AFR co-processing to the calciner. The position requires a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. This position requires up to 15% domestic/national travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technologies, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely-related field.
  • 3 years of experience in the job offered, as a Project Engineer, or in a related process engineering/operations position.
  • Alternatively, 5 years of experience in the job offered, as a Project Engineer, or in a related process engineering/operations position.
  • 3 years of experience working in a process engineering/operations capacity, including Low CO2 Engineered Fuel Utilization, at a cement plant.
  • 3 years of experience monitoring and optimizing cement production processes, including the utilization of Low CO2 Engineered Fuel (Alternative Fuels), substituting fossil fuels (e.g., coal, gas) in the clinker production process.
