About The Position

The Process Engineer plays a key role in improving manufacturing processes with a strong focus on projects resulting in productivity and overall plant efficiency. This role will support projects that drive cost savings, improve reliability, and enhance product quality across food manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will bring practical, hands-on experience in manufacturing along with the technical skills to solve problems, implement improvements, and support day-to-day operations. Success in this role requires initiative, sound decision-making, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to turn ideas into results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, or industrial engineering programs (or equivalent).
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar engineering role.
  • Experience with process system related to the food and beverage industry.
  • Working knowledge of project life cycle deliverables, contract & schedule.
  • Recommended experience in, or ability to become proficient in, the use of Microsoft Office software, Microsoft Project, SEEQ, CAPE, and AutoCAD.
  • Pro-activity, personal drive, decisiveness, commercial / business acumen, communication skills, excellent teamwork skills, organizational competency, and the ability to prioritize.
  • Preferred experience in food manufacturing processing processes, including pasteurization, separation, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support process improvement projects with a focus on milk yield, efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to optimize equipment performance and reduce product loss.
  • Partner with operations, quality, and maintenance to troubleshoot issues and drive sustainable solutions.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including system specs, SOPs, and equipment settings.
  • Support equipment modifications, tie-ins, and plant shutdown/startup activities.
  • Verify installation and performance of new equipment, assisting with commissioning and validation.
  • Prepare and review process layouts, system diagrams, and other project documentation.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to evaluate options, review proposals, and ensure equipment meets project needs.
  • Provide technical support for day-to-day operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable processes.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects, collaborating with operations, engineering, quality, and project management teams.
  • May be assigned as project lead on specific improvement or capital projects.
