About The Position

The Process Engineer Graduate position is an exciting opportunity to join PM Group’s quickly growing Boston area team out of Burlington, MA. Together we will all be sharing knowledge, learning, growing, and continuing to be an integral part of supporting PM Group’s ongoing expansion in the US. Our office will be executing cutting-edge projects for Cell & Gene Therapy, Biologics, and Pharma facilities – from feasibility through to qualification – for both local and international clients. Together with our clients and partners, we will deliver projects that improve the everyday lives of people across the globe. This is an entry-level career position, and we are looking for a Process Engineer who enjoys client interaction as well as the technical aspects of the position. This individual needs to have a basic understanding of the technical aspects of engineering design with a desire to learn the nuances of the design build industry. The ability to successfully handle multiple real-time complex project and operational tasks as well as maintain a strong work ethic and drive to deliver for clients as a collaborative colleague are necessary for this role. The Graduate Process Engineer will be mentored by the senior level Process team members and will assist with the development of design documents such as PFD’s, Material Balances, P&ID’s, utility consumption summaries, plant & process utility distribution systems, piping plans, equipment/construction specifications, etc. Expect project work to include all levels of design: feasibility studies, conceptual & schematic design, construction documentation, and construction administration. Project sizes will vary and will consist primarily of life science industry projects doing both existing building improvements and new construction. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering
  • The ability to travel as needed for client and project development
  • Proficient in the use of engineering software
  • Computer literate with good experience working with MS Word and Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Co-op or Internship with pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with generation of calculations and design layouts (equipment and piping)
  • Assisting with generation of data sheets, material requisitions & enquiry packages for procurement of equipment
  • Assisting with development of each package through concept, basic design and detailed design.
  • Interfacing with vendors and other disciplines ensuring the highest level of service is provided
  • Delivery of agreed design scope within budget hours and schedule
  • Interacting and communicating with project team members, clients and other internal/external parties to ensure co-ordination of activities
  • Liaise with senior colleagues and mentors as appropriate
  • Demonstrate an understanding of scope of work assigned
  • Demonstrate an understanding of commercial aspects (hours and capital cost) of your work
  • Use initiative in problem solving and make decisions under the direction of others
  • Demonstrate knowledge of PM Group and/or industry standard methodologies and tools
  • Under supervision, prepare technical documents in accordance with agreed schedules and report progress in a timely fashion to avoid any undue delays
  • Carry out site visits/site surveys
  • Keep abreast of current technology, regulatory (including Environment, Health & Safety) and industry standards with your discipline
  • Special projects as required
