Requirements

  • Pursuing a B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Science, Industrial preferred, but other disciplines considered).
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of PC using Word, Excel, Project, Access.
  • Some CAD skills preferred.
  • Basic bookkeeping skills and ability to read drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project and Senior Engineers with engineering projects on process systems.
  • Support day-to-day production operations as assigned by the Asst. Manager, Process Engineering.
  • Develop technical expertise in coating systems, paint application, corrosion protection, electroplating, chemical processes, precision/critical cleaning, vacuum brazing, and vacuum systems.
  • Provide daily production support when necessary.
  • Participate in root cause problem solving efforts for defect correction and process/product continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership and work independently within a collaborative setting.
  • Work with customers to resolve technical issues and identify root causes.
  • Perform process controls, automation, and material handling system assignments.
  • Conduct field survey work to validate layouts/plans before, during, and after construction.
  • Transcribe existing building plans into CAD based drawings.
  • Author process quality specifications and define process limits.
  • Analyze failures and identify process improvement opportunities.
