About The Position

Position Summary: This position will be part of the xEV Regional PE group for Electric Vehicle products and will be responsible for activity and support for Power Module programs and products used in Inverters. The purpose of the Electronics Inspection Process Engineer will be to support activities to establish equipment, processes, and quotations for programs related to Power Module products, with specific focus on Power Module assembly Automated Optical Inspection, Vision (Camera) Inspection Systems, and other failure mode analysis or judgement methods. Additionally, this role will support activities to identify synergy potentials across programs, products, best practices, ensure cost efficiency and drive synergies across a multitude of xEV activities.

Requirements

  • 4-year University Degree in Related Field and 5 years related work experience.
  • Engineering skills related to electronics manufacturing or relevant inspection processes including automated optical inspection (AOI), vision systems, or other verification methods.
  • Experience in inspection process failure analysis, data collection, judgement of OK/NG criteria, and implementing or facilitating implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ability to make quick, accurate, data driven decisions and utilize excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy with both personal computers and manufacturing systems.
  • Willingness to support the corporate culture with an absolute focus on ethics and fairness.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including all shifts and days as needed.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time while sitting.
  • Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday.
  • Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen.
  • Ability to travel for business (Domestic and Overseas)
  • Intermediate experience required in Windows Office Products (MSWord, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in electronics manufacturing environment, with emphasis in inspection processes including equipment, development of pass/fail criteria, and maturation/verification of analysis methods and systems.
  • Knowledge or background in electronics manufacturing processes, assembly processes, including identification of potential failure modes, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Experience developing inspection judgement criteria with automated inspection processes, evaluating, and improving process repeatability.
  • Capability to interface with inspection equipment, control, modify, and implement inspection criteria, pass/fail thresholds, other equipment setup/operational parameters, or programs.
  • Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, etc.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing and principles of IPC regulations.
  • Well organized, attention to detail and able to handle multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills to prepare and present information to all levels of associates, management, and customers both verbally and written.
  • Ability to lead and mentor other engineers or team members in a variety of roles throughout organization.
  • Experience with application specific inspection equipment (Ex: AOI, vision system/camera, etc.)
