About The Position

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Summer 2026 through Fall 2026 Process Engineer Co-Op (full-time, 35-40 hours per week). This position will be in Rolla, MO. Summary: Process Engineer Co-Ops evaluate, select, develop, and implement programs for product and process characterization, continuous product and process improvements, equipment design, and specific installation and implementation.

Requirements

  • Working toward a Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Chemical Engineering; or other related degree
  • Sporadically required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds (lbs.)

Responsibilities

  • Perform product and process characterization.
  • Perform work that involves conventional types of plans, investigations, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features that have precedents and require investigation of a limited scope.
  • Complete assignments that usually include one or more of the following: testing of materials, preparation of workbook and process specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation, and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed.
  • May coordinate the work of technicians or others who assist in specific assignments.
  • Maintain accurate records of data, procedures, experiments, tests, and findings for future reference with record retention, which may include the use of lab notebooks
  • Analyze data and utilize to ensure continuous improvements in products, processes, and systems under the guidance of more experienced engineers or supervisor/manager.
  • Prepare regular periodic reports that summarize outcomes, process improvements, achievement, challenges, and roadblocks.
  • Participate in process troubleshooting activities and propose solutions to operational challenges.
  • Support the implementation of safety procedures and guidelines within the manufacturing facility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance process efficiency and product quality.
  • Learn and adhere to industry regulations and standards related to chemical manufacturing processes.
