About The Position

The Mechanical/Industrial Process Engineering Co-op position will work with the Process Center IPT in the Melbourne, FL facility. Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

Requirements

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline
• U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status)

Nice To Haves

• SolidWorks preferred
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Methods

Responsibilities

• Production floor support for production processes
• Assist in various Process-related projects (Process Equipment verification and validation, Process improvements, Process related scrap reduction, Process related OOE improvements, creation and validation of automated process and equipment, Facilities Re-layout, Lean)
• Apply Lean principles including 5S, Standard Work, and flow
• Work with Industrial Engineers and Production Managers to find and correct inefficiencies, resulting in improved productivity
• Develop cost-benefit comparisons of alternate methods, processes, layouts, parts, tooling, or equipment
