About the position
The Process Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic Company is designed for students pursuing a degree in engineering, providing hands-on experience in process engineering. The role involves working on special projects aimed at improving facility efficiency and product quality, while collaborating with professional engineers and other personnel. Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting to identify root cause of problems
- Tracing of pipes and equipment in the field to correlate with existing drawings
- Assisting with equipment efficiency tests and developing a process flow diagram for new opportunities
- Conducting mass and energy balances for various types of chemical processes
- Computer modeling
- Assisting with Turnaround and Repair Day equipment inspections as required
- Communicating with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers, lab personnel, and contractors
- Participating in department meetings and project-specific meetings
- Adhering to Mosaic's mission, guiding principles, and key competencies
Requirements
- Sophomore level or higher pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Materials and Metallurgic Engineering
- Completed Material and Energy Balances or Thermodynamics class prior to internship/co-op
- 2.75 GPA or higher
- Student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
- 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is required
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Basic computer skills
- Experience working in a team environment
- Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
- Effective verbal communication skills
