About The Position

We’re searching for a Process Engineer | Automation Support who thrives at the intersection of engineering design and hands-on manufacturing. This role is built for someone who doesn’t just design solutions; they build, test, refine, and improve them on the production floor. The Process Engineer is responsible for improving manufacturing efficiency through automation, fixture design, and hands-on process optimization. This role supports production by designing, building, and implementing practical automation solutions that increase throughput, improve repeatability, and reduce manual labor. This is a highly collaborative, on-site role that blends mechanical design, CAD/CAM programming, fabrication, robotics support, PLC troubleshooting, and 3D printing into real-world manufacturing impact. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or automation support
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software
  • Experience with Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM platforms
  • Hands-on experience with CNC mills, CNC routers, and 3D printing equipment
  • Ability to work effectively in a production-floor environment
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and project management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience programming or troubleshooting industrial robots
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
  • Background in high-volume manufacturing
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Experience retrofitting or improving legacy automation equipment

Responsibilities

  • Design automation fixtures, tooling, and mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks
  • Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings
  • Program and support CNC machining operations using Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM software
  • Utilize 3D printing to develop functional fixtures and tooling solutions
  • Collaborate with machinists, fabricators, and production teams to ensure manufacturable, cost-effective designs
  • Participate in hands-on fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing of automation solutions
  • Manage small to mid-sized projects from concept through implementation
  • Identify and execute process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve product consistency
  • Troubleshoot and support robotics and PLC-controlled equipment
