Process Engineer - Automation & Assembly - Greenfield, IN The Process Engineer will develop and improve manufacturing processes in a light assembly and fabrication environment including tool design and process troubleshooting. The Manufacturing Engineer will drive productivity improvements to reduce labor & overhead costs. Additional work to include work cell and workstation design, time studies and line balancing, standard work, and work instructions. The engineer must possess strong interpersonal skills, working both independently with minimal guidance, and within a wide variety of cross functional teams.

  • Manage capital equipment investments from business case through production launch.
  • Implement process improvement projects to achieve plant productivity targets.
  • Design and procure tools, jigs and fixtures.
  • Support existing work cells experiencing equipment or process issues.
  • Initiate stocking of expendable tooling and critical spares in the MRO crib.
  • Submit Engineering Changes to make updates to Bills of Materials.
  • Update Cycle Times & Product Routings in the ERP system.
  • Submit product routing updates as required for configurator updates.
  • Work with cross functional teams including Product Management, Sustaining Engineering, Quality Engineering, Operational Excellence and Operations as required.
  • Utilize tools like PFMEA, SWOT Analysis, PICK Charts, DMAIC etc. for problem solving.
  • B.S. in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with tool design and engineering support in a light manufacturing and assembly environment.
  • Creo or equivalent solid modelling software.
  • Experience with product routings and bills of materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with time and resource constraints.
  • Strong teamwork and internal customer-relation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within teams.
  • Effective data collection, analysis, interpretation, and resulting decision-making.
