As Form Energy scales up battery manufacturing, they are looking for Process Engineers to join their Assembly Manufacturing Engineering team. This role involves designing, developing, optimizing, and scaling up new battery manufacturing assembly processes for Form Energy's Iron-Air multi-day battery. The position is located at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV, with relocation assistance available.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment, ideally in process engineering, NPI or scale-up
  • Extensive hands-on experience with medium to large equipment
  • Expertise in process engineering principles, statistical analysis, and quality management systems
  • Comfort using statistical methods for process development decisions
  • Experience owning manufacturing processes and accountability for their quality, throughput, yield, and overall success
  • Experience authoring process, safety, and quality documentation
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and optimization of novel battery assembly manufacturing technologies with a data-driven approach
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing Equipment to design, build, install, and run processes on first-of-kind manufacturing equipment
  • Collaborate with product design team, R&D, quality, and supply chain to translate product requirements into battery design and manufacturing processes
  • Develop and maintain PFMEA, process specifications, measurement systems GR&R, control plan, statistical process control, and quality inspection methods
  • Prioritize safety across all aspects of manufacturing
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability in commissioning and owning novel processes
  • Provide data-driven feedback to the Design team to simplify manufacturing processes
  • Develop novel test methods to evaluate products in real time during production
  • Mentor, guide, and support team members with expertise and practical experience
