About The Position

Lutron Electronics has an immediate opening for a Production Process Support Technician at our production facility located in Austin, TX. This 1st shift position will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team and will work closely with Engineering and Operations. The primary focus of the position will be to support production needs and drive improvement projects to help the facility meet its goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You will help identify and drive improvements to the manufacturing process and tooling that affect the key process indicators of safety, quality, and cost. The ideal candidate will be flexible and have a diverse skillset. You will be asked to take on various tasks across the following disciplines: computer/software, electrical, and mechanical.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in electronics, mechatronics, electro-mechanical technologies, or similar field with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • 2+ years of experience supporting manufacturing processes, maintenance or development is preferred
  • Ability to work 1st shift (6:30am - 3pm)
  • Strong aptitude in troubleshooting, rebuilding, and maintaining various manufacturing equipment
  • Skills in electrical troubleshooting, building, or design
  • Strong interest in operations and manufacturing
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Excel and Suite
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Technical process owner for manufacturing processes including testing, scanning, printing, assembly tooling, and process-specific software applications.
  • General production support, troubleshooting, and issue response in order to keep production lines running.
  • Ensure corrective and preventative maintenance programs are in place, working with equipment support team.
  • Responsible for process safety and quality, together with local HSE lead and Quality lead. Identify safety risks and work to mitigate, drive continuous improvement to process safety and quality.
  • Drive product transfers in or out of the facility as required, together with sending or receiving technical resources.
  • Drive process improvements for the benefit of plant performance. Work with leadership team on priorities, planning, and execution of improvements to benefit safety, quality, cost, and customer delivery.
