About The Position

The Scientist is responsible for conceiving, designing, and executing scientific experiments that support project and organizational goals. Under general supervision, this role develops experimental strategies, analyzes complex data, and contributes to process improvements and scientific innovation. The Scientist ensures compliance with regulatory standards while delivering high-quality, reliable results.

Requirements

  • PhD (Doctorate) in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field, OR Master’s degree + 2 years of relevant scientific experience, OR Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of relevant scientific experience
  • Relevant fields include: Life Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines
  • Advanced scientific analysis and troubleshooting
  • Strong laboratory and experimental design skills
  • Analytical problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Project management and multitasking ability
  • Effective verbal and written communication (technical writing required)
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively
  • Adaptability and change management
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in data analysis roles (e.g., Statistician, Data Scientist, Computational Biologist)
  • Strong experience working with large, complex datasets
  • Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., R, MATLAB, SAS, JMP, Minitab)
  • Experience with database/query languages (e.g., SQL)
  • Familiarity with data systems such as OSIsoft PI, Spotfire, or OVDAS
  • Experience in regulated environments (cGMP)

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and evaluate experimental strategies with general guidance
  • Develop robust processes to generate accurate and reliable data
  • Interpret experimental results and assess their impact on project objectives
  • Introduce advanced scientific methods and innovative approaches when applicable
  • Develop and implement novel protocols to address technical challenges
  • Ensure all studies comply with approved protocols, cGMP, and regulatory guidelines
  • Perform advanced data analysis and provide clear, actionable insights
  • Solve complex, non-routine analytical problems using appropriate methodologies
  • Work with large and complex datasets, conducting end-to-end analysis (data gathering, processing, analysis, and reporting)
  • Apply statistical models (e.g., linear, multivariate, stochastic) to support decision-making
  • Select appropriate statistical tools and techniques based on business or scientific needs
  • Translate business questions into analytical frameworks and data-driven solutions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and external partners
  • Represent the department on project teams under senior guidance
  • Initiate and support collaborations across departments or organizations
  • Provide guidance to peers on experimental design and data interpretation
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives such as safety, recruiting, and committees
  • Develop mentoring and supervisory skills
  • Independently author scientific reports, technical documents, and regulatory submissions
  • Prepare presentations and communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Maintain current knowledge of scientific advancements, literature, and emerging technologies
  • Communicate relevant scientific insights to project teams and leadership
