Position Summary: The Process Development Engineer will focus on optimizing distribution center operations through labor standard improvements, workflow and layout design, time studies, ergonomic assessments, and productivity analysis. The position supports cost-reduction initiatives, quality improvements, and root-cause analysis while maintaining accurate BOMs, routings, capacity models, and manpower planning. It requires strong cross-functional collaboration to design flexible manufacturing cells, develop data-driven solutions, and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
  • Working knowledge of GD&T, SPC, Validation, PFMEA
  • Frequent (verbal and written) communications; able to present to peers and management on deliverables status
  • Must be versed in capacity modeling, time-studies, balance tables, and flexible work-cell development
  • Must be skilled with Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD, and ERP Systems
  • Utilization of Six Sigma tools and understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and improves labor standards, floor & workflow layouts, bill of materials (BOM), and routings for all products
  • Performs time studies, ergonomic/safety assessments, process flow analysis, line balancing, and productivity evaluations for all distribution areas and implement identified improvements
  • Performs financial analysis for product cost reduction projects, and quality initiatives, and provide recommendations
  • Formulates and optimizes distribution center layout for optimal workflow
  • Maintains capacity and manpower models and initiates corrective actions and/or improvements as required
  • Coordinates with process owners, shop floor shareowners and engineers to develop flexible manufacturing cell designs
  • Develops solutions to a variety of routine problems using computer and logic-based methods
  • Supports root cause analysis activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
