Taura by IFF is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Process Design Engineer to join our operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate to be part of a collaborative team and continue to build their knowledge. This role is designed to evolve over two key phases, beginning with process design and commissioning support, and progressing into process optimization, troubleshooting, and project execution. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with a passion for continuous improvement and a desire to grow within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Support plant start-up activities, including equipment validation, process trials, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, document, and maintain process automation functional descriptions.
  • Assist in commissioning planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Participate in safety and quality reviews during the commissioning phase.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing process, equipment, and control systems.
  • Assist in the development of the operations team to meet agreed objectives, deliver best practices, and add value and continuous improvement.
  • Drive technical improvements for processes by monitoring and managing critical process performance.
  • Learn and support the maintenance and reliability of process equipment.
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives by identifying and implementing energy and waste reduction opportunities.
  • Implement strategic technology initiatives focusing on cost and capacity savings.
  • Support small capital expansion projects from concept through execution, including scope development, vendor coordination, and installation oversight.
  • Ensure the engineering function operates in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work virtually and connect with engineers globally.

  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role preferred (internship/co-op experience considered).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Willingness to work in a hands-on, fast-paced production environment.
  • BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related scientific field.
  • 0-2 years of process engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrates technical competency as part of a project team when presented with problems with a defined scope and impact.
  • Demonstrates the ability to actively participate in a team and contribute within a specific area of expertise.
  • BS/M.Sc. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related scientific field.
  • 2-5 years of process engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrates competency and the ability to develop value-creating solutions within specific technology areas or applications.
  • Proactively seeks responsibilities on the team and influences activities and direction of the team.
  • Familiarity with process control systems and data analysis tools is a plus.
