We are currently seeking a Process Control Systems Specialist for our Marathon Los Angeles Refinery located in Wilmington, California. This role is crucial as it provides process control systems support within the refinery. The Process Control Specialist will be assigned to specific units but will also be expected to assist other units as needed, leveraging their knowledge and experience. The primary responsibilities include hardware and software maintenance, ensuring the reliability and functionality of process control systems and applications. The specialist will confirm that data and work processes are kept up to date, ensuring that applications and hardware are running as intended. This role involves collaborating with partners and customers to communicate, schedule, and execute updates, as well as documenting and addressing issues, changes, notices, and impacts to customers. The available schedules for this position include 9/80, 5/40, or 4/1, with after-hours calls required typically only once or twice a month and support for Turnaround (TAR) once a year. This is a non-exempt role, making it eligible for overtime. Core hours for this position start between 5 AM and 7 AM and end between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM. Key responsibilities also include monitoring control systems performance, addressing system alarms, replacing and maintaining control system hardware, executing preventative maintenance, coordinating vendor work, managing Management of Change (MOCs), and performing software upgrades. The specialist will also maintain spare parts inventory, inspect process control cabling, and support hardware refresh projects and software updates. Additionally, they will assist with new control loop implementation, troubleshoot existing loops, and participate in incident investigations.
