We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Process Control Systems Technician with our Chemical Manufacturing Facility located in Wichita, Kansas.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Able to work with outside vendors who specialize in process control hardware and software.
  • Must understand basic computer networks and graphical interfaces.
  • Must understand and be able to support workstation/server software and hardware.
  • Must learn basic knowledge of databases, field bus and radio communications.
  • Must be able to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
  • Must be able to read and create design drawings for all systems.
  • Must be able to work closely with Engineering, Maintenance & Operations.
  • Must be able to provide documentation for procedures and investigations pertaining to the Process Control Systems and historians.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs.
  • Must be able to work in heights and work out of doors continuously.
  • Walking, bending, stooping is required.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Instrumentation and Controls preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority.
  • Responsible for maintaining & modifying Wichita’s Process Control and Data Historian Systems.
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to software and hardware maintenance of all Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and data historian system design, configuration, documentation and user training.
  • Participate in the Wichita Plant process safety programs to complete Process Hazard Analysis, to complete the Management of Change requirements, and to investigate process safety incidents.
  • Ensure process safety information is current and accurate for the physical assets (P&IDs), for the process conditions (PFDs), for the process chemistry (SDSs), and for the technician-process activities (procedures and work instructions).
