The Process Control Systems Specialist, as part of the Project Engineering department at the CPKelco Okmulgee facility, will interface with a diverse team of personnel such as manufacturing plant operations and technical engineering such as Safety, Instrumentation, manufacturing process experts, applications engineers, etc to maintain a variety of process control systems including Emerson Delta V, Allen Bradley PLC, GE Fanuc and Windows based workstations and servers.

  • Confers with operators, supervisors and engineers to elicit known requirements of the business and suggests previously unconsidered improvements for evaluation.
  • Meets with engineering team to define and implement process control and instrumentation projects.
  • Provide technical and operational expertise for the day-to-day support of the process control systems and infrastructure.
  • Interface with vendors and area personnel to assist in purchasing and deployment of solutions.
  • Interface with outside consultants, engineering, company process control specialists, and area personnel to coordinate development and deployment of custom solutions.
  • Troubleshoot control systems hardware and software failures for Delta V and Microsoft systems.
  • Bachelors Degree with 3-5 years of related experience with control systems. Will accept an associate's degree with 8 years of experience.
  • Applicant must be a self-starter with excellent troubleshooting skills required to be on call to provide plant support during off hours and weekends.
  • Project startup and optimization experience required.
  • A working knowledge of OPC, and Pi data historian.
  • Must have DCS experience.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability to use and troubleshoot at least one of the following areas of process control and associated computing systems: Allen Bradley PLCs, Delta V DCS, OSI PI, Microsoft Windows Servers; 2016, 2018, 10, VMware, virtual machines, TCP IP based network switches and routers such as Cisco or equivalent.
