About The Position

As the Process Control Supervisor, you'll be responsible for verifying manufacturing procedures and processes daily to ensure everything complies with the highest standards. You won't just be checking off tasks—you'll be constantly seeking ways to optimize processes, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with Operations Management to close any gaps. You'll be responsible for writing detailed procedures for every step in the process, ensuring all team members, from Management to Hourly staff, are properly trained and equipped to perform at their best. You'll drive projects that meet cost-saving goals while maximizing the overall effectiveness of the Process Control department. Additionally, you'll oversee Acceptance Quality Limits (AQLs) on inbound raw materials, track trends, analyze claims, and implement tracking systems by supplier and product type. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Food Science or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project.
  • Experience in manufacturing, plant operations, yields, OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills: Ability to read and interpret documents (e.g., safety rules, manuals), write routine reports, and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities, time management, project management, and the ability to work independently or in a fast-paced team-oriented environment with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to travel up to 5% of the time to collaborate with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in food science, food processing, and/or food manufacturing, with a general understanding of the industry.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and knowledge of SAP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation by leading Lean Manufacturing initiatives, spearheading process improvements, and continuously optimizing operations to boost efficiency and hit cost-saving targets.
  • Dive into daily pre-op inspections, monitor processes in real-time, and tackle any issues with employee practices or equipment before they become problems.
  • Take charge of AQLs for inbound raw materials, analyze results with precision, and ensure strict adherence to SSOP, USDA, and OSHA standards.
  • Energize cross-department communication and take on exciting special projects, from production tests to process evaluations, ensuring everything runs at peak performance.
  • Lead your team to success by guiding them in process control, safety, and quality, while crafting and rolling out impactful Process Control policies that elevate performance.
