Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid and clean Georgia driver's license required.
  • Must obtain a Class 3 wastewater license within the first year of employment.
  • Specialized training in wastewater treatment preferred.
  • One year of experience in a wastewater treatment facility as an operator or mechanic desired.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains Wastewater Treatment Facility equipment as scheduled.
  • Operates chemical feed systems and assists in unloading chemical deliveries.
  • Collects operational data for various treatment processes.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the work area and assists laborers in facility upkeep.
  • Assists maintenance crews in isolating equipment for maintenance.
  • Monitors treatment facility and collection systems using SCADA system.
  • Inspects pumps, motors, valves, and other equipment for proper operation.
  • Safely uses hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.
  • Learns to operate all plant equipment in the treatment process.
  • Assists mechanics in preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Participates in staff meetings and assists management with data compilation.
