About The Position

The Process Control Specialist operates and maintains equipment at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, ensuring efficient treatment processes and compliance with safety standards. This role involves shift work, including weekends, nights, and holidays, and encompasses various levels within the career ladder, from apprentice to specialist II.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid and clean Georgia driver's license required.
• Must obtain a Class 3 wastewater license within the first year of employment.
• Specialized training in wastewater treatment preferred.
• One year of experience in a wastewater treatment facility as an operator or mechanic desired.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains Wastewater Treatment Facility equipment as scheduled.
• Operates chemical feed systems and assists in unloading chemical deliveries.
• Collects operational data for various treatment processes.
• Maintains cleanliness of the work area and assists laborers in facility upkeep.
• Assists maintenance crews in isolating equipment for maintenance.
• Monitors treatment facility and collection systems using SCADA system.
• Inspects pumps, motors, valves, and other equipment for proper operation.
• Safely uses hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.
• Learns to operate all plant equipment in the treatment process.
• Assists mechanics in preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Participates in staff meetings and assists management with data compilation.
