About The Position

The Manager of Process Control Engineering provides leadership to the team supporting a large Pulp and Paper Mill at our Macon, GA Mill. JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

Requirements

Eight (8) years’ experience in Process Control/OT.
Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Control Systems (PLC), and associated instrumentation.
Experience in supporting an operations group on a day-to-day basis.
BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering.
DCS experience with Honeywell TDC or Experion or other Open System (i.e., Delta V)
Installation and configuration of Allen Bradley PLC; DCS/QCS Service Management
Communications networking and training – network design and configuration. Ethernet TCP/IP – routers, hubs, switches etc.; Client/Server and database application implementation.

Responsibilities

Manage a team responsible for the installation/modification of process control system software and application software.
Oversee the process control/operational technology (OT) system for the whole facility, including break/fix, systems, and large OT projects
Engage a team to partner with operating departments to meet OT needs and implement control strategies for new process equipment.
Modify/enhance controls/OT on existing equipment; work with maintenance/operations personnel to identify and resolve problems with equipment to keep the process within availability and quality KPI limits.
Identify requirements for capital investments, cost reduction, and process control equipment and steward continual improvement.
Assist in preparation of budgets and standards for cost measurement.
Provide leadership with the implementation of problem-solving strategies and the execution of key performance objectives.
Create, implement, and monitor local KPI’s for the department.
Liaison with other department managers to optimize mill production and alignment of process control systems with all improvement initiatives.
Foster employee engagement initiatives.
Encourage a behavior-based safety process.
