About The Position

The Process Control Engineer/DCS Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining process control systems at the East Houston/Channelview facility. This role involves acting as the main focal point for all process control-related activities, ensuring the upkeep of control systems, and collaborating with various stakeholders to implement upgrades and modifications. The engineer will also support in-house projects and develop process control strategies, while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Ability to learn and implement Honeywell Experion PKS operation, programming, and maintenance.
  • Ability to learn and implement Rockwell PlantPAX operation, programming, and maintenance.
  • Ability to learn and implement Honeywell Safety Manager SC operation, programming, and maintenance.
  • TUV certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Loop Sheets.
  • Troubleshooting instrument maloperation such as control valves and flow meters.
  • Instrument configuration and wire specification.
  • Support for Electrical group with troubleshooting electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Owns and acts as the main focal point for all Process Control related scope for Houston site.
  • Manages all the Maintenance related activities for the upkeep of various control systems and hardware components.
  • Works with 3rd parties and/or vendors for external resource needs.
  • Maintains communication and relationship with process automation provider Honeywell.
  • Collaborates with site Maintenance organization for hardware modifications.
  • Owns, maintains and manages the site Master I/O database/list.
  • Plans and executes periodic testing of interlock and safeguarding systems.
  • Plans, coordinates and executes upgrades during plant shutdowns.
  • Writes site Process Control Basic Design Infrastructure document for major projects.
  • Supports in-house projects and MOCs to develop process control strategies.
