About The Position

The Process Coater II is responsible for performing basic coating operations on aerospace components under the supervision of the department Supervisor or Lead. The role ensures products meet all technical, quality, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working experience of processing manufacturing procedures
  • A minimum of 1 - 3 years industrial experience and/or training in related area desired.
  • To perform this job successfully an individual must maintain either no facial hair a NIOSH Approved Beard as pursuit to Cal/OSHA California Code or Regulations, Title 8, Section 5144(g)(1)(A) and pass an annual respirator fit test.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal. Ability to perform basic shop math.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Word Processing; Spreadsheet software; and other applications.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Perform coating operations such as Painting of Pins & Collars, Cetyl Alcohol Lubrication, Water Based Cetyl, Automatic paint applications, Dry film Lube, Pan Coater paint application, Rotomat paint application.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and job routers to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Operate all coating equipment, including spray equipment, bake ovens, and lube tanks.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and report repair needs to the Lead or Supervisor.
  • Operate electric or manual pumps for chemical or paint removal as needed.
  • Handle all chemicals safely in accordance with company and governmental regulations.
  • Ensure product quality meets all company and industry standards.
  • Complete assigned workload efficiently and on schedule.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment performance, report malfunctions promptly.
  • Train new coating operators as assigned.
  • Follow all company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and practices.
  • Attend all required HSE training and report any nonconformance immediately.
  • Promote continuous improvement and participate in waste elimination initiatives, including recycling.
  • Mentor and assist in training other employees as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
