Summary The Process Coater I is responsible for performing basic coating operations on aerospace components under the supervision of the department Supervisor or Lead. The role ensures products meet all technical, quality, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working experience of processing manufacturing procedures
  • A minimum of 0 - 2 years industrial experience and/or training in related area desired.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal. Ability to perform basic shop math.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Word Processing; Spreadsheet software; and other applications.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Perform coating operations such as Painting of Pins & Collars, Cetyl Alcohol Lubrication, Water Based Cetyl, and Automatic paint applications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and job routers to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Operate all coating equipment, including spray equipment, bake ovens, and lube tanks.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and report repair needs to the Lead or Supervisor.
  • Operate electric or manual pumps for chemical or paint removal as needed.
  • Handle all chemicals safely in accordance with company and governmental regulations.
  • Ensure product quality meets all company and industry standards.
  • Complete assigned workload efficiently and on schedule.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment performance, report malfunctions promptly.
  • Follow all company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and practices.
  • Attend all required HSE training and report any nonconformance immediately.
  • Promote continuous improvement and participate in waste elimination initiatives, including recycling.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
