About The Position
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. in Fair Lawn is seeking a Process Chemist. Join a hardworking team to advance chemistry innovations. The role involves resolving manufacturing processing issues by conducting technical investigations into raw material failures to improve first-pass yield through the plant. You will carry out lab-based experiments to determine the suitability of new raw materials for use in manufacturing and packaging processes, conduct research to support new manufacturing technologies, and provide guidance on supplier specifications and test methods. Additionally, you will manufacture laboratory samples for customer evaluation, assess manufacturing feasibility, and provide quotes for customers. The position requires using the NPI process to set up new products on internal systems, supporting documentation, and supervising the first batch production. You will also investigate non-conformances with the quality team, review and update Chemical Manufacturing Batch Instructions and SOPs, and support QC in interpretation of analysis and method development. Collaboration with external suppliers and participation in risk assessments are also key aspects of the role.
