About The Position

The Process Assistant is assigned to the Area Manager, and will hold responsibilities specific to the different Fulfillment Center areas. This role involves supporting daily management of department duties, including allocating labor, leading meetings, assigning job duties, and communicating with internal and external suppliers. The Process Assistant will also provide vacation coverage for Area Managers, assist with policy follow-up and attendance tracking, and track and report ATS/labor hours. Key aspects include assisting the floor as an associate resource, training associates, verifying SOP compliance, and ensuring successful area performance through tracking, reporting, and feedback. The role also involves participating in Operational Excellence initiatives, filling in with production duties as needed, understanding workflow and daily production goals, reviewing and updating SOPs, assisting in keeping the work area clean and organized, identifying and addressing safety hazards, coaching associates on safety, participating in safety initiatives, and referring all job injuries immediately to the area manager.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
  • High school or equivalent
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
  • Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required

  • Experience with Kaizen and Continuous Improvement Process
  • Knowledge of project and product quality tools like Six Sigma or Lean operations
  • 1+ years of Problem Solve process path experience
  • Experience leading and influencing your team or organization
  • Education beyond High School, and/or prior experience managing employees
  • Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels of Amazon associates and management

Responsibilities

  • Support and work in the department as required
  • Helping support daily management of department duties, including allocating labor, leading meetings, assigning job duties, and communicating with internal and external suppliers
  • Providing vacation coverage for Area Managers
  • Providing policy follow-up, attendance tracking (duties do not extend to discipline)
  • Tracking and reporting of ATS/labor hours
  • Assisting the floor as an associate resource, training associates and verifying SOP compliance
  • Ensuring successful area performance, through tracking, reporting and feedback of associate performance
  • Participating in Operational Excellence initiatives in some capacity
  • Filling in as needed with production duties
  • Fully understanding workflow and daily production goals
  • Reviewing and updating SOP as required
  • Assisting in keeping work area clean and organized
  • Identifying and addressing safety hazards within the work area
  • Coaching associates to work safely at all times
  • Participating in safety initiatives
  • Referring all job injuries immediately to area manager
