About The Position

Airport Synergy Group LLC (ASG) is a Joint Venture between Avports LLC, Jacobsen|Daniels Associates LLC, and Consolidated Management Professionals. ASG brings 120+ years of collective experience in world-class commercial aviation operations. After previous cooperation and successful collaboration among its partners in the past, ASG was recently awarded the management contract to provide Property and Equipment Management Services at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), on behalf of the Tom Bradley International Terminal Equipment Co. (TBITEC). The Process & Safety Manager will establish, evaluate, and/or validate all operating processes and procedures for safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. S/he will respond to accidents, incidents, issues, concerns, or complaints raised by stakeholders to understand and document root causes, impacts, process, or communication breakdowns, and to propose solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in continuous business process analysis and improvement at an FAA Part 139 Certified Airport, Airport System, Airport Terminal, or Airline Station, including a commercial passenger terminal with more than 3M enplanements per year
  • Strong understanding of business applications and logistics of business processes, preferably in the airport/aviation industry
  • Experience with process mapping and data analysis tools
  • Proven ability to interface with Government officials, including DHS, USDA, CBP, TSA, DOT, FAA, DEC, DEP, OSHA, EPA, CDC, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate effective communications in a multi-stakeholder environment (e.g., Airport, Airlines, stakeholders, and tenants)
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry periodicals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Analytical problem solving and information gathering abilities (Key Performance Indicator reporting, gap analysis, cause-and-effect diagrams, etc.)
  • Ability to review/write reports, business correspondence, and procedural and training manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, employees, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office tools
  • Local demonstrated experience at LAX will be considered a plus

Nice To Haves

  • Aviation experience is preferred
  • IAP or AAE designation will be considered a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and assess processes and workflows
  • Apply process improvement tools including statistical process control, process mapping, value stream mapping, control charts, lean methodology and process capability studies
  • Optimize productivity by designing, implementing, and testing new procedures
  • Track metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades
  • Work with operations team to identify projects, assess feasibility, and implement solutions
  • Align technical expertise and business knowledge to facilitate delivery of business plans in a cost-effective manner recognizing business priorities
  • Respond to service issues to understand root causes and propose process changes
  • Champion safety leadership in all activities and planning
  • Conduct research and analysis to develop new strategies and ideas to improve processes
  • Conduct risk assessments and communicate recommendations to management
  • Oversee the development and implementation of a safety training program
  • Assess compliance with applicable safety and quality standards
  • Develop and assemble reports to document process status and changes, update SOPs, and issue safety bulletins
