About The Position

As assigned by the EH&S Corporate Manager, the role involves working with all Arnette Polymer personnel in a supportive capacity to aid in the execution of written plans, procedures, and goals set by management. The position requires the ability to receive direction both in writing and verbally, as well as supervising, coaching, motivating, and developing staff. The individual will enforce company policies and suggest improvements for safety and compliance. A good command and general working knowledge of manufacturing equipment is essential, including cooling tower fans, circulation pumps, chiller systems, steam boilers, air compressors, reactors, mix tanks, and emergency shutdown procedures, particularly in relation to compliance. The role also involves direct collaboration with Maintenance Technicians on CMMS preventative maintenance and work orders linked to compliance activities. Additionally, the individual must have a working knowledge of the safe handling of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods, and be able to conduct laboratory testing for routine daily tests of products. Comprehension of various manufacturing techniques and acting as a steward for the company are also key responsibilities. The position requires working with the EH&S Corporate Manager to assist in scheduling, verification, and participation in all environmental and safety training as required by regulations and company policies. Other responsibilities include assisting with contractor orientation, new employee orientation, inventory control measures, waste generation tracking, and ensuring DOT compliance with shipping requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, OSHA Safety Management, or related discipline, or high school diploma with relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a related area or suitable combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of office and facilities coordination.
  • Basic leadership and management knowledge.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and organize diverse material.
  • Ability to handle multiple, competing, and changing priorities.
  • Ability to perform effectively without supervision.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Relevant computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and SAGE Platinum for Windows.
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work with all Arnette Polymer personnel in a supportive role.
  • Supervise, coach, motivate, and develop staff.
  • Enforce company policies and suggest improvements for safety and compliance.
  • Have a good command and general working knowledge of manufacturing equipment.
  • Work directly with Maintenance Technicians on CMMS preventative maintenance & work orders.
  • Conduct laboratory testing for routine daily tests of products.
  • Comprehend various manufacturing techniques.
  • Assist and administer scheduling, verification, and participation in environmental and safety training.
  • Assist with Contractor Orientation and Compliance Monitoring.
  • Assist with New Employee Orientation including PSM initial training and HAZWOPER.
  • Verify inventory control measures through shift paperwork and batch ticket review.
  • Track and reduce waste generation and costs.
  • Ensure DOT compliance with labels, packaging requirements, and closure instructions.
  • Lead the verification of Safe Work Practices permitting preparation and usage.
