About The Position

As an Offshore Process and Production Engineer for Amplify Energy, you will play a pivotal role in delivering safe, reliable, and optimized production across our offshore assets, Platforms Ellen, Eureka, and Elly. This position offers the opportunity to lead high-impact initiatives that directly support a major drilling campaign (2026–2028), driving increased production and facility performance. You will work closely with production operators to maximize base production on Ellen and Eureka, while spearheading facility projects and automation upgrades on Elly to expand processing capacity and throughput. A key aspect of this role is designing and building advanced SCADA systems and implementing surveillance tools and processes to enable real-time data analytics and continuous production optimization. Core responsibilities include selecting and designing downhole equipment and associated systems, developing installation and operating procedures, and ensuring equipment reliability and run-time targets are achieved. You will provide technical leadership and guidance to operations teams, including Production Managers, Superintendents, Platform Foremen, and Field Operators while influencing reservoir performance and long-term asset value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline).
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in production, reservoir, and/or workover engineering; offshore California experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with SCADA systems, production surveillance tools, and artificial lift optimization; familiarity with ESP vendor metrics.
  • Working knowledge of nodal analysis, well performance diagnostics, facility debottlenecking, and injection optimization; reservoir simulation experience (e.g., Pipesim, Eclipse) desirable.
  • Strong capability in reserves management, AFE preparation, and regulatory reporting (BSEE eWells)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary projects, manage workovers and facility modifications, and collaborate across operations, subsurface, and service providers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of California offshore regulatory frameworks and operating practices (Cal-OSHA, SCAQMD, Coastal Commission).
  • Strict adherence to safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, hazard recognition, and emergency response protocols.
  • Ability to travel offshore regularly and work weekly in California
