Process and Product Care Engineer Location: Somerset, NJ (Hybrid) Position Responsibilities: Process Care Recommend process improvements to the lead plant, focusing on cost reduction, productivity, quality, and equipment performance. Collaborate on escalation-level process care activities with the lead plant (Level 1 or 2). Conduct investigations into non-conformances (NC), CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), and complaints. Assign tasks to action owners for technical root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Perform specialized risk analyses in collaboration with the lead plant. Identify, implement, and monitor corrective and preventive actions, ensuring effective root cause resolution. Prepare and maintain task-related documentation. Provide active troubleshooting and problem-solving for processes and systems, utilizing tools like A3 and IoT when available. Offer technical leadership and training in production environments, emphasizing processing-structure-properties relations for current and new products and processes. Develop work instructions and standard operating procedures for production processes. Support validation engineers in the qualification and validation of equipment and processes. Initiate or support production trials for changes in raw materials, products, or line extensions. Assist in creating and training Device Master Records (DMRs) for Value Stream Managers. Support the lead plant in development projects, building product and process expertise. Act as the recipient for design transfers. Contribute to L4L transfers, including design, process, and commissioning, at receiving plants. Assist with task method development, changes, and optimization of auxiliary materials. Ensure adherence to standards and regulatory requirements. Implement corrective and preventive measures. Product Care NC-Processing: Evaluate equipment, material, and process non-conformances at the expert stage (Stage 1). Collaborate and provide detailed support for root cause analyses. Implement and monitor root cause analyses, as well as corrective and preventive actions, following SOPs for non-conformances. Assign tasks to action owners for technical root cause analysis and action implementation per SOP guidelines. Make usage decisions based on evaluations. Complaint Handling: Process assigned product complaints in alignment with SOPs. Coordinate with Value Stream Leaders to implement and monitor root cause analyses and corrective/preventive actions for complaints. Assign tasks to action owners for complaint-related root cause analyses and resolution. Operational Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Serve as the primary contact for Value Stream Managers (VSM) and Value Stream Group Leaders (VSGL) for issues beyond their independent resolution. Organize and oversee resolutions for errors and problems. Document investigations and their results comprehensively. Collaborate with internal and external partners to address issues effectively. Actively resolve product-related issues, utilizing tools like A3 and IoT where applicable. Assign tasks to action owners for root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Your Qualifications: Master’s degree, or bachelor’s degree with equivalent training, in Ceramic Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or Chemical Engineering. Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant professional experience. Strong understanding of the processing-structure-properties relationship as it pertains to Ivoclar products. Proven ability to provide technical leadership and deliver effective training. Capable of working independently with a hands-on, proactive approach. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills. Competence in simplifying and addressing complex issues effectively. Strong documentation and reporting skills. Adaptability to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected challenges. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP. Demonstrated intercultural competence. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 10%. Familiarity with required resources such as QIM, DMS (OTCS/LL), CAPA, etc. Physical Demands: Ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation. Occasionally required to stand, move about inside the office area to access files. Frequently communicates with employees of all levels as well as outside vendors. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Equipment & Machinery Used: Desktop or lap top computer. Occasional lab equipment and other equipment related to processes being supported.
