About The Position

The role of the Procedures Mechanical Engineer Level II is pivotal in creating and ensuring the quality of the procedures for Power Generation Simple Cycle (SC), Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT), and Combined Heat and Power Projects (CCHP) in Multi Shaft and Single Shaft configurations. This position reports to the Procedures and Quality Control Manager and is responsible for coordinating, creating, and reviewing Construction and Commissioning procedures, ensuring quality documentation is submitted. Capturing, tracking, and implementing procedure improvements will also be part of the responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this role should possess a general knowledge of construction as well as a specific, certified field engineering discipline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 4–7 years of direct experience in power generation, construction, industrial operation, or a combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience with Project Schedule P6 or similar software preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO procedures and OSHA safety requirements is a plus.
  • English proficiency with strong report writing and technical communication skills.
  • Spanish, Portuguese, or Japanese language skills will be highly considered.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and analyze machine-related or computer-generated data.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate high independence and responsibility while developing mechanical installation and commissioning procedures.
  • Review mechanical engineering designs, including P&I diagrams, general arrangements, isometrics, foundation drawings, structural drawings, design philosophies, etc.
  • Apply knowledge of gas and steam turbine construction (foundations, skids, modules, bearing alignment, coupling alignment, etc.).
  • Apply knowledge of auxiliary components, including lubrication systems, fuel gas systems, air cooling systems, and other auxiliary equipment.
  • Ensure compliance of mechanical system designs with codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Coordinate and support field engineers by clarifying procedures for Mitsubishi-supplied equipment.
  • Interpret and apply codes, standards, and customer design requirements to prepare procedures, specifications, and system descriptions.
  • Conduct document and design verification to deliver complete mechanical procedure deliverables on time.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and manage the internal CAPA (Corrective Action, Preventive Action) system.

  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and research documentation for mechanical projects.
  • Support construction sites by clarifying procedures and ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Ensure projects conform to federal, state, local, and company engineering specifications.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
