The Procedural Charge Entry Clerk at Kearney Regional Medical Center works closely with all the Surgical Services Managers and nurses to ensure charges are being entered correctly to the patient's chart. This role involves auditing charges to ensure that financials are matching surgicals. The clerk interacts professionally with physicians, nurses, and others, reviewing clinical documentation and charge entry information for the OR, Cath Lab, Outpatient, and Endoscopy departments. The position requires ensuring documentation is completed and accurately entering procedural data and charges into the electronic medical record. The clerk also works with purchasing agents to obtain purchase orders for entry into the system and communicates with staff on missing documentation, charges, and implants. Finalizing cases in the system after ensuring everything is complete and correct is also a key responsibility. The clerk works closely with billing and coding staff to ensure charges are correct and communicates concerns with the appropriate Surgical Services Manager. Additionally, the clerk recognizes incorrect supply entries and collaborates with Surgical Services Managers and/or the Supply Chain team to get them corrected. Daily reviews of department charge reconciliations are necessary to assure charges are accounted for and populated into the financial system correctly. Other duties may be assigned by management.
