About The Position

The Probation Parole Officer II position is responsible for supervising high-risk offenders who have been sentenced by the Court and/or Parole Board. This role involves managing a specialized caseload that includes violent offenders and gang members, utilizing community supervision models as directed by the New Mexico Corrections Department. The officer will ensure compliance with legal requirements while providing support and monitoring to offenders under their supervision.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
• Two years of experience as a Probation and Parole Officer I or as a commissioned/non-commissioned law enforcement officer, including behavioral case management.
• Successful completion of Defensive Tactics and Restraint Courses within one year of hire.
• Valid New Mexico Driver's License and U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
