The Probation Officer position is a full-time role within the CASP/Probation department. The officer will supervise probationers and monitor their compliance with the terms set by the General Sessions Courts. This includes maintaining and updating probationers' files and records, conducting monthly supervision visits, and documenting drug screen results and upcoming court dates. The officer will also administer drug and alcohol testing, issue probation violations when necessary, and attend court weekly for new referrals and hearings related to probation violations. Additionally, the officer will make referrals to treatment providers as needed and participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities. Establishing positive working relationships with various departments within the criminal justice system is also a key aspect of this role.
