About The Position

The starting wage for this position will depend upon qualification and experience. To provide supervision and case management services to clients who have been convicted of a domestic related crime, as well as provide support and resources to their victims. Provide the Court with written and verbal recommendations to assist in the issuance of an appropriate evidence based disposition. Act as a liaison between the Bench, county departments, local/state/federal agencies, treatment providers, service providers, victims, the public to assist clients in establishing and maintaining a positive support network in the community. This position requires nontraditional hours including, nights and weekends. Other duties as assigned. All tasks will be performed in accordance with county and department policy and procedure.

Requirements

  • Four-year Bachelor's Degree with a major in Corrections, Criminal Justice, Criminology, or related field.
  • Completion of a 400 hour internship in a related field.
  • Experience in supervising adult probation and/or supervised release clients.
  • Experience supervising domestic violence clients and their victims is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Regular attendance according to the department approved work schedule and developing and maintaining respectful and cooperative working relationships is required of all Sherburne County positions.
  • Maintains contact with clients per department contact standards, which will include direct and indirect contacts, office visits, home visits, and placement visits.
  • Provides resources and/or refers clients for supplemental evaluations and/or appropriate education, counseling and treatment programs as ordered by the Court.
  • Collaborates with clients and others to identify strengths and needs, identify supports, and coordinate services.
  • Contacts/communicates with victims to obtain/attempt to obtain collateral information to supplement and/or verify information in court reports and for ongoing case management.
  • Utilizes evidence-based assessments, strategies, and interventions to promote law abiding behavior and support client change.
  • Identify clients risk/criminogenic needs and level of supervision utilizing a validated risk/needs assessment.
  • Provide the Court with written and verbal reports, including recommendations for sanctions, evaluations, treatment, and/or education to assist in the issuance of an appropriate evidence-based disposition.
  • Maintain current and accurate client case data in CSTS.
  • Administers drug and alcohol testing to clients and collect DNA samples pursuant to Statute.
