About The Position

State Of Vermont Probation & Parole Officers must be conscientious, self-motivated individuals with the ability to think on their feet in a fast-paced environment. You'll have a strong understanding of ethics and boundaries as well as the ability to communicate and work in a team setting. Understanding of victim awareness, risk intervention strategies, and case planning practices, plus the ability to maintain a professional rapport with local law-enforcement agencies and community partners is a must. Prior Corrections, law-enforcement, or military experience is preferred for the position of Probation and Parole Officer II at the Burlington Probation and Parole Office. The work will be performed in an office setting with field work required. The hours are 7:45-4:30, Monday-Friday. Some after hours, some weekends, and field work may occur. Must attend six weeks of instruction at the Vermont Correctional Academy.
