About The Position

Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to complete Corrections Juvenile Services-Agent Curriculum.
  • Possession of a valid Louisiana driver's license at the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare pre-dispositional investigations and reports for juvenile courts.
  • Provide offenders and their families with an understanding of court expectations.
  • Collaborate with judges, law enforcement, and community resources to provide services to juveniles.
  • Keep the court informed about the progress of juveniles under supervision.
  • Maintain case records and data files, updating case activities in the automated system.
  • Assess risks and needs of juveniles and develop service plans accordingly.
  • Conduct intake screening interviews and prepare recommendations for the district attorney.
  • Testify in court hearings on behalf of juveniles and the agency.
  • Develop and monitor informal adjustment agreements for juveniles prior to adjudication.
  • Serve as a secondary case manager for juveniles in secure facilities.
  • Transport youth to and from residential and correctional facilities as needed.
