  • Supervises offenders in housing units and oversees their participation in various activities.
  • Checks and counts offenders, inspects housing units for safety and security violations, and prepares reports on violations and behaviors.
  • Interviews offenders to gather information about their backgrounds and maintains records of investigative findings.
  • Retrieves information from various databases and responds to confirmed active warrants.
  • Photographs and issues identification cards to offenders, assists with job search activities, and monitors offenders on electronic monitoring.
  • Maintains databases and logs, answers emergency calls, and assists Probation and Parole Officers with court hearings and home visits.
  • Supervises the movement of offenders and intervenes in emergency situations, including performing CPR.
  • Promotes rehabilitation by modifying offender attitudes and encouraging constructive activities.
  • Administers substance abuse assessments and collects DNA samples from offenders.
  • Provides after-hours assistance and maintains supplies for the department.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid vehicle operator's license is required.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation administered by the Missouri Department of Corrections.
  • Successful completion of safety training, including firearms and CPR/First Aid.
  • Completion of training in the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) prior to regular appointment.
