Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) and Senior Vice-President, and working collaboratively with peers across the full portfolio, the role will contribute to the organisation-wide expansion of Monash’s research capability, performance and impact. Joining a high-performing team, you will continue to deliver the strategy for major research initiatives and grant success, strengthening the University’s position across national competitive schemes, emerging funding sources, industry partnerships and international opportunities. The Pro Vice‑Chancellor (Research) engages with faculties and research units to drive continuous improvement in research outcomes. In addition, the position holds responsibility for rankings strategy, research ethics and integrity, defence and regulatory compliance, responsible partnerships, impact performance, and governance of major research centres. Working across the entire Research and Enterprise leadership team, the Pro Vice‑Chancellor (Research) will strengthen a unified, strategic and responsive research ecosystem for the University and its valued researchers. The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) will join a diverse team of specialists across both academic and professional streams and will lead with accountability, strategic clarity and strong operational execution. The role is primarily responsible for functions including defence, foreign interference, AI and data security and will uphold high standards, shaping a cohesive, high‑performance culture.
