About The Position

The University of Oregon’s Institute for Policy Research and Engagement seeks to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill periodic vacancies for pro tem research/project management positions. All positions would be funding contingent, part-time, temporary assignments with an appointment of up to one year, but with the possibility of renewal for up to a total of three years depending on need, funding, and/or performance. Appointments would be as research assistants, conducting research, or project management under the direction of a principal investigator. Examples of current and past projects can be found at http://ipre.uoregon.edu/ Successful candidates will have professional experience and a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Community and Regional Planning, Public Administration, Public Policy, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • Ability to efficiently manage complex planning projects/processes.
  • Commitment to justice, equity, inclusion, and diversity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to varied audiences, in multiple modalities.
  • Understanding of complex long-range planning and development processes and issues.
  • Skills and experience in public outreach, public involvement coordination, public body (elected, appointed, volunteer) liaising, and small group facilitation.
  • Ability to evaluate, comment on, and direct master’s-level student work using formal and informal assessment tools.

Nice To Haves

  • American Institute of Certified Planners (or equivalent) certification.
