About The Position

The Department of Theatre Arts invites applications to our open pool for pro tem instructors. Qualified candidates will be able to teach a broad range of theatre courses, including beginning acting, movement for actors, script analysis, or dramatic literature. Successful candidates will have the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds, and will be prepared to teach both theatre arts majors as well as students from varied disciplines. Positions are contingent on funding, typically part-time or temporary assignments with an appointment for up to 1 year; but with the possibility of renewal for up to three years depending on need, funding, and performance.

Requirements

  • Master's degree is required by the start of the appointment.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Successful candidates will have professional experience, demonstrated ability or potential for quality teaching, and a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in related field.
  • Three or more years of teaching experience.
