About The Position

The Department of Psychology at the University of Oregon seeks a pool of applicants interested in Pro Tem Instructor positions to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Positions are temporary, intermittent, or of limited duration; not to exceed one year. In limited circumstances, there may be a possibility of renewal up to three years depending on programmatic need, funding, and performance. Instructional areas may include introductory psychology, research methods, thinking, cognition, clinical psychology, clinical practica (Oregon psychology licensure required), or development. Successful candidates will share the Department of Psychology’s commitment to an inclusive environment and to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis. Screening of applications will take place as positions become available and will continue until positions are filled.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology or closely related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Commitment to an inclusive environment.

Nice To Haves

  • University-level teaching experience.
  • Ph.D in Psychology or a closely related field.
  • Experience with different teaching strategies and learning styles.
