PRN Weekend Hospice RN On Call Seeking a nursing opportunity where you can make a real impact? Comprehensive On-boarding and Training Flexible Scheduling with work life work balance Supportive Management with Career Growth Opportunities As a Hospice ON CALL Registered Nurse, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do: Provide hospice patient care after-hours and weekends, as needs arise for our patients Enable patients to spend quality time with loved ones and participating Work as part of an interdisciplinary team comprised of a physician, LPN, CNA, HHA, social worker, chaplain and volunteers to carry out the patient’s plan of care. Perform patient assessments, check vitals, evaluate breathing, monitor pain, administer prescribed medication and treatments. Ensure accessibility of medical equipment, prescribed oxygen, medication and other supplies Educate family on the patient’s prognosis, changes in care plan, medication and hospice goals. Take a holistic approach to care that engages the patient’s mind, body, spirit and family.

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) license
CPR certification
Valid car insurance
Prior Hospice experience 3+ years
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of Hospice nursing care
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

Provide hospice patient care after-hours and weekends, as needs arise for our patients
Enable patients to spend quality time with loved ones and participating

Triaging any emergent needs and collaborating with physicians to provide comfort and quality care to each patient
Communicating with medical professionals, the hospice team and others
Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records
Providing services in accordance with agency policies and regulations that define scope of practice
