As a Virtual Sitter, your role will be centered around ensuring resident safety. You will play a vital role in ensuring resident safety by providing continuous remote monitoring for residents at risk of falls, elopement, or self-harm. Your vigilance and proactive communication will help prevent adverse events and enhance the overall resident experience.

  • Complete continuous visualization of the resident via remote monitoring equipment.
  • Continuous visual observation of resident(s) always using room safety camera to identify potential harm to self or others.
  • Communicate with facility nurses to determine when cameras should be adjusted for privacy during daily care, physician visits, etc.
  • Obtain a verbal report from the resident's nurse, including ambulation limitations and course of action for redirection, care needs, diagnosis, and any special considerations.
  • Collaborate with the manager for concerns not requiring immediate physical intervention.
  • Observe the resident's activity and behavior and redirect the resident as needed.
  • Immediately notify floor nurses of the need for physical intervention.
  • Identify safety risks and communicate the need to escalate assistance to the residents.
  • Function cooperatively as a team member, responding to directives by responsible nurse to changing resident's/unit's needs.
  • Communicate in a professional manner and demonstrate respect for the residents, families/significant other and other health care members.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in healthcare is preferred.
  • Certification as a Certified Nurse's Aide (CNA) or Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience of working in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Power Point and Outlook, Internet and Intranet navigation.
