About The Position

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic medical sonography examinations using high-frequency sound waves to visualize internal organs, tissues, and vascular structures. The technologist ensures high-quality imaging to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions while providing compassionate patient care and maintaining patient safety. This is a Part-time role based in Frisco, Texas.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • Certification: ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography).
  • Experience: 1+ year of clinical ultrasound experience preferred; new graduates considered.
  • Proficiency in abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, small parts, and/or other specialty imaging.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize normal vs. abnormal findings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Ability to assist and position patients, including lifting up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Physical stamina to stand for hours, bend, lean, squat, and/or sit as needed throughout the day.
  • Manual dexterity to operate ultrasound equipment and computer systems.
  • Good vision and hearing for accurate assessment of images and patient communication

Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic images with proper positioning and technique.
  • Review patient history and clinical indications to tailor imaging procedures appropriately.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality throughout the procedure.
  • Evaluate image quality and make adjustments to optimize diagnostic value.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to provide accurate and timely imaging results.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and exam logs within the PACS/RIS systems.
  • Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper function and cleanliness.
  • Adhere to infection control, radiation safety, and compliance standards.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain certification and knowledge of emerging techniques.
