An Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound imaging ordered by doctors and helps with daily tasks to provide good patient care.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • At least six months to one year of post-graduate experience is strongly preferred.
  • (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • (RVT) Registered Vascular Technician must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor, or CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various ultrasound imaging procedures as ordered by doctors.
  • Manage daily tasks to ensure quality patient care in a diagnostic/therapeutic setting.
  • Be able to perform both stationary and portable exams.
  • Accurately follow doctors orders, document exam completion in Meditech, scan documents, and verify images in PACS.
  • Follow correct procedures for quality controls and HLD related to equipment and accessories.
  • Document patient history, including lab values, properly.
